AI phone screens
HrThroo's AI calls consented candidates from your own number between 10:00 and 19:00 India time, says it's an AI, and stops if they say stop.

Before the first call
- A connected and tested phone line.
- A connected mailbox, for the consent request and the notice before the call.
- The candidate's consent: ticked on the apply page, or given through the consent email HrThroo sends from your mailbox when you start a phone screen for someone added by upload or CSV.
- Calling switched on for the workspace and the job, and phone-screen minutes left in your plan.
How a call goes
The AI's first sentence says it's an AI assistant, names your agency and the role, and says the call is recorded. It asks the job's screening questions in the job's language. If the candidate says stop, or asks not to be called, the call ends and they're opted out: every queued session for them is cancelled and none can start again.
When calls happen
Only between 10:00 and 19:00 India time. Outside that window a phone screen waits for the next one. No answer or busy is retried — at most 3 attempts in total, at least 2 hours apart, always inside the window. A call that seems stuck is investigated, never redialled blind.
Minutes
A connected call of up to 60 seconds counts as 1 minute; after that, each started minute counts as a whole minute. Calls that don't connect are free. Each call shows its connected time and billed minutes on Phone screens. Your telephony provider bills you for the call itself; that isn't part of your HrThroo plan.
The result — a report with quotes from the transcript — goes to the review queue. The AI never passes or fails anyone.
