Transfer or delete a workspace
Hand your workspace to another member, or delete it. Both need a 6-digit code from your email; a deletion waits 7 days and can be cancelled.

A workspace has exactly one owner. The owner controls billing, can delete the workspace and can hand it to someone else. You can see who it is at the top of Settings → Team.
Hand the workspace to someone else
Ownership goes only to someone already in the workspace. If they aren't, invite them first from Settings → Team.
- In Settings → Team, choose Transfer ownership… and pick the person.
- We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it to confirm.
- They get an email and a notification. In Settings → Team they choose Accept…, and enter a code we email to them. They have 7 days.
Until they accept, nothing changes. You can cancel at any time, and they can decline.
| After the transfer | |
|---|---|
| The new owner | Owns the workspace: billing, deleting it and handing it on. |
| You | Stay on as an admin. |
| Mailboxes you connected | Stay yours. |
| The plan | Stays with the workspace. Renewals are still charged to the card that paid until the new owner changes it in Billing. |
Delete the workspace
- In Settings → Privacy, the owner chooses Delete workspace… and types the workspace's name.
- We email the owner a 6-digit code. Enter it to schedule the deletion.
- Every owner and admin gets an email straight away, and again the day before.
- For 7 days, any owner or admin can choose Cancel deletion. After that, every job, candidate, CV, transcript and recording is deleted. Payment records are kept, as the law requires.
A workspace can't be deleted while an ownership transfer is pending, and can't be transferred while a deletion is scheduled. Cancel one first.
About the codes
- A code works once, for 15 minutes. Five wrong tries and you need a new one.
- Nobody from HrThroo will ever ask you for it.
- Not in your inbox? Check Spam for an email from HrThroo. You can ask for a new code after 60 seconds, up to 5 an hour.
- Still not arriving? Email hello@hrthroo.com.
The owner has left the company
If the owner can't hand the workspace over, email hello@hrthroo.com from an address on your company's domain, with a company document (your GST certificate, or a letter on letterhead signed by a director). We tell the current owner and wait 7 days for an objection. If there is none, we make you the owner. You must already be in the workspace.
